MDK be like:

God damn, this is good!

The only thing that really drags this down for me is the fact that it sounds pretty over-compressed. I think it's really just the mixing/mastering that needs to be fixed then it should be good.

The snare's a little distracting at the start, I feel like it'd be better to remove the snare aside from the chorus in my opinion. For me, I could still hear the vocals pretty clearly, though I agree they could be mixed a little louder, especially in the chorus.

I know I'm probably gonna come across as a bit of an asshole here, but I can't really justify rating it higher than maybe 1 and a half stars. That said, I'm not doing this to be rude or anything.

The drop itself sounds really good, if a little repetitive. I don't really have much else to say on it. But the melodic parts sound really over-compressed to me and they're clipping quite a lot, which is weird to me because the drop sounds fine to me. Admittedly, it could just be my headphones but most other songs I tested them on sound fine. The brass sounds at 0:24 also sound really cheap/fake sounding. I get that you might not have the money to look into the really expensive libraries like Audio Imperia or Metropolis Ark, but there are some really good free solutions out there. I'd recommend Spitfire LABs (I'm not sure if they have brass specifically, but I know they have some really good strings libraries available, all for free.) The melody for the brass also sounds pretty chaotic and disjointed to me, I would try going with a less complex melody for now.

EDIT: Turns out I had the wrong settings on my headphones/audio so it isn't clipping as much as I thought it was. But I still think that the brass and Piano could be mixed a little lower, as they're still clipping a little.

EDIT 2: Lmaooo

EDIT 3: Since Ipsiom removed their response to this review I'll put it back to what I originally rated it (their response was something like 'well this came across as rude so I'm quitting music >:(') because admittedly 0 stars is pretty harsh. However, I will say learn to take feedback lmao. This review wasn't a personal attack so the response was completely uncalled for. If everyone blindly rated you high ratings all the time you won't have any opportunities to succeed in your career. Feedback is important to grow as an artist. Now, do you have to listen to my review? No, you can ignore it if you want, it's just my opinion after all - music is subjective. But responding to a genuine review trying to help like that is completely uncalled for.

Additionally after I posted this review Ipsiom and what I assume to be their fans started 0 starring my stuff - which to be fair I don't really care about Newgrounds ratings, but that was still extremely childish lol. Anyway, that's all I will say on the situation, I don't want to start up any drama so I probably won't address it anymore. Peace.

I don't usually leave reviews on songs here, but I have to say that this does a really nice job giving off the same feelings as C418's soundtrack. I'm genuinely really loving this track.

Thank you so much. Minecraft's music is genius, I'm a huge fan!

This may be personal preference, but the sustain strings/chords sound too dry to me making them sound kind of fake to my ears, I would put more reverb on them. The synth bass in the background of 00:38 and 2:56 sounds kind of out of place to me compared with the acoustic samples throughout the rest of the song. I feel like the reversed crash sample at 1:10-ish is a bit too loud. The flute at 1:01 and 2:45 has a lot of high frequencies in them, I would EQ those out.

Overall though this sounds really good and I think you picked solid sounding libraries for your sounds.

SaikouGabu responds:

Thank you a lot for your feedback !
I'll take everything into account for the next time :D

Alright so, first of all, I wanted to say that the guitar in the song is really nice. However... I'm gonna have to give this a low score.. I feel like the drop is really hard to listen to, as it's really noisy and messy to me. Maybe I'm just biased because I don't really like dubstep in general, but I just feel like the synths you've chosen aren't really that pleasant to listen to.. And this is not me trying to be mean, but sometimes they hurt a little to listen to, perhaps because you've put too much distortion on them or that they're too high pitched?

This is pretty nice. I will say, I don't like the autotune on the vocals though that may be more of a personal preference. The drums also kinda get buried by the other elements imo.

YasiinClemens responds:

Thank you <3 Honestly I only use the auto tune because my voice is booty lol

This sounds really good, though I think it could benefit from more background elements. The piano at the beginning could also use some reverb.
